A mid-century classic, George Nelson first designed the Bubble Lamp in 1947 for Howard Miller. The firm eventually discontinued the line in 1979. Herman Miller now manufactures the lamps using the original tooling. The Bubble Lamp is featured in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The Nelson Bubble lamps are made from a steel frame with polymer covering. The pendants include a 10' cord. A 5.25" dia brushed nickel ceiling plate is also included.
All of the Bubble Lamps are UL Rated for up to 150 watt bulbs, except for the Small Saucer style which is UL Rated for 60 watts.
