This incredible bowl is hand crafted in Western Massachusetts. Spencer Peterman is always on the lookout for fallen trees, especially those covered by moss and dirt. From these trees, he finds wood with unique markings.
Spencer kiln dries the wood to 6% moisture content to stabilize and prevent future cracking and checking. Turning the wood on a lathe produces bowls that are strikingly beautiful. Finally, he finishes each bowl with food-safe oil to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. Each bowl has a generous size.
The 13" bowl will measure approximately 13" x 11" x 5"h. As each bowl is a one-of-a-kind work of art, the exact dimensions and markings will vary slightly.
With proper care, your bowl will last a lifetime. Hand wash your bowl with mild soap and water. Dry off with a towel. Do not place in the dishwasher or submerge in water. We recommend that you apply mineral oil once a month (or whenever needed) to maintain the natural beauty of the wood and to help prevent the wood from being stained.
